WILLIAMS LAKE SALE - WED. & THURS. OCT. 2 & 3

Well the Williams Lake calf sales are underway and what a start to a powerful fall run.  Wilf showcased 800 tremendous calves on Wednesday with Thursday notching 800 head of regular yearlings and butcher cows and bulls.  Rob & Lorne Herrick built the fire today with 62 top quality Char cross calves.  The 1st group of 569 lb. s/c met 159.75, their 678 lb. Char s/c notched 148.25.  13 head of their Char cross h/c’s 613 lb. powered to 140.00.  Dick & May  Dixon from Forest Grove had 375 lb. Black & Red Angus s/c trade to 176.00.  Brian McGowan with heavy 658 lb. Char X s/c they topped 150.25.  A beautiful pen of their 525 lb. Char cross h/c’s hit 147.00.  Ace Acres / Al Emmons top quality 693 lb. steer calves today raced to 150.00, their 582 lb. s/c Black & Red Angus notched 158.75.  Virginia Mackie blew the doors off the place with a pen of 444 lb. Black Angus s/c from Quesnel topping 172.50, the bigger 531 lb. raced to 161.25.  A pen of their 383 lb. s/c saw 189.50.  Andy & June Anderson’s 670 lb. Black s/c hit 151.25, the 600 lb. s/c rolled to 157.50, the 600 lb. h/c traded to 141.00.  Urs & Natasha Reichlin of Trinity Ranch sold their 670 lb. Red s/c at 152.00, their 560 lb. Red Baldy s/c high marked 160.50 and the 511 lb. h/c sold to 143.25.  Will & Linda Wiggins 581 lb. Angus s/c brought 155.25.  Bruce and SueHighway’s 585 lb. Red s/c rolled to 158.00.  Edgar Stowards 531 lb. Black Simm X s/c topped 165.00, the 444 lb. s/c hit 179.00.  Wes & MaryannMetzger had 395 lb. s/c trade to 184.00, their 470 lb. s/c raced to 165.75.  Merv & Nancy Morrow had heavy 700 lb. s/c notch 148.50.  Ed D’Appalonia showcased 534 lb. Red & Black Angus cross they traded to 161.25, their 418 lb. s/c marked 179.00, their 547 lb. h/c’s notched 144.50.  Bill & Cathy Hohmann had 610 lb. Angus X s/c top 149.25.  Bronc & Liz Twan showcased a top pen of calves, their 517 lb. Angus / Limo X s/c powered to 163.75, their 476 lb. h/c notched 150.00.  Moffat Ranch’s 578 lb. SimmX s/c sold to 158.25, the 658 lb. s/c hit 151.00  The Regular Sale here in Williams Lake Thursday also saw 800 head of cattle.  Yearlings by far dominated the sale receipts.  Dave & Deb Brace saw their 1355 lb. butcher cows trade to 74.25.  Peter & Pam Abrahamse built the fire under the yearling trade with 1000 weight steers topping 124.25.  Lars & CarolSatre set the pace with a liner load of 800 lb. Red steers topping 145.25, the 879 lb. steers hit 141.50, the 681 lb. Red X heifers brought 135.25.  DaveMaurice had 711 lb. heifers sell to 135.50.  Mike & Tony Bayliff showcased 167 powerful Hereford yearlings and the buyers loved them.  The 700 weight steers notching 149.00.  Their beautiful pen of Hereford heifers similar weight traded to 131.75.  Reiney Grin from Quesnel with 853 lb. open heifers  Black & Red Angus traded to 128.25.
